2019 Individual Schools Grant Program
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation invests in individual schools that demonstrate the capacity to deliver strong outcomes for students in Kansas City. To be eligible for an Individual Schools Grant, a district, charter or private school must serve a significant percentage of students from lower-income households, demonstrate proven or promising academic outcomes and be located within the six-county metro area (Johnson or Wyandotte counties in Kansas and Cass, Clay, Jackson, or Platte counties in Missouri). These grants enable school leaders to enhance existing programs, bring innovative ideas and approaches to the school, or explore new strategies and initiatives. School leaders are invited to apply for grants of up to $225,000 per year, which will support initiatives that take place within an individual school.
Applications for 2019 Individual Schools Grants will open January 15 and are due February 12.
The Kauffman Foundation is hosting two session formats to support applicants in this process. Sessions are optional and attendance provides no advantage in the selection process.
- Thursday, January 17, 12-1pm: Webinar information session to discuss eligibility criteria, helpful tips and lessons learned from past grant applications.
- Wednesday, January 23, 9am or 4pm: In-person working sessions; bring your laptop and questions!
To attend one of the sessions, please register here by January 16. Those who register for the webinar will receive the link via email in advance of the webinar.
In-person sessions will be held at:
