2019 Individual Schools Grant Program

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation invests in individual schools that demonstrate the capacity to deliver strong outcomes for students in Kansas City. To be eligible for an Individual Schools Grant, a district, charter or private school must serve a significant percentage of students from lower-income households, demonstrate proven or promising academic outcomes and be located within the six-county metro area (Johnson or Wyandotte counties in Kansas and Cass, Clay, Jackson, or Platte counties in Missouri). These grants enable school leaders to enhance existing programs, bring innovative ideas and approaches to the school, or explore new strategies and initiatives. School leaders are invited to apply for grants of up to $225,000 per year, which will support initiatives that take place within an individual school.
